We exist to glorify God by enjoying Him together, and to form equipped and engaged disciples of Jesus Christ through the life of the local church.
Our Values
OUR History
First Baptist Durango was founded in 1881, just one year after the founding of the town of Durango and the same year the town was officially incorporated. The church began meeting in its current building in 1902 and has a rich history marked by a commitment to global missions and faithful Bible preaching. Over the years, First Baptist has been affiliated with what was formerly known as the Conservative Baptist Association of America, now Venture Church Network. The church has weathered much throughout its history, yet remains committed to the Gospel truths upon which it was founded.
