Urgent message to our ministry partners –
The gang unrest in Port-au-Prince is now escalating. We have gotten word that the gangs have now broken into one of the prisons in Port-au-Prince. In doing so, they have freed all the criminals to
now be out on the street to join them in the uprising. Also, we understand they plan tonight to take down a second prison as well.
We have heard that next they are going to take the National Palace. They also plan to invade the Port-au-Prince airport. Their high level plan is to attack in several places at
one time so that the police force gets so scattered that they are little resistance for the gangs.
As we understand it, the Prime Minister is currently in the U.S. They do not want him to return so this is the reason for attempting to control the airport now.
Given this updated news that we have just received, for the safety of us and our congregation, we will now not hold our church services in the morning. Everyone will be notified through a What’s App text.
Please join us in praying for the escalation of this unrest to be held in check so that it won’t spread all over the city. Pray for God’s intervention as this is truly the only real solution.
